Man, my car needs a wash and wax.


Anyhoo, I decided to take off my roof rack today because I don't do a lot of skiing in LA. Not only that, the wind noise on the freeway starts to get annoying at 75-80, especially with the ski rack. The added weight and drag don't help either, so now I guess I have to change my sig.

Fortunately, my friend's parents are homeowners at the resort, and had the boot taken care of.

We got there at 1am, and my friend told me it was okay to park there, and I didn't see any signs. Turns out there were signs, for 15min parking, 50 feet to either side of my car.

I was talking to my mom who is in Missoula, and she said it's been warm and rainy there, and that the skiing is terrible. Snow was great at Tahoe two weeks ago, though.

It would be fun to catch one of those parking nazi's out there in the middle of the night. I'd tell the court i thought it was someone breaking into my car.

I had an almost identical rack on my car, except it was a Yakima. I used to use it alot for biking but decided to take it off for the same reasons you did. Unfortuently I had lost the keys to I had to drill the locks. I think out cars look good with or without a rack.

Well, I actually ended up buying one. It's a 1994 turbo legacy bar. The lat links, brackets, and endlinks are all in the mail right now. I bought STi take-offs, too, but they were from an 05 and they don't fit. I'm pretty disappointed because I got a great deal, so at least I was able to sell them with no loss. They came in the mail today, and I'm delivering them to a guy tomorrow.

I think after I go to San Diego this weekend and do the ITN road rally next weekend I might put it back on. The car just seems to look a lot better to me with the rack.

It's a Subaru; it's supposed to be dirty.

Yeah, that's why the paint is all faded up on the hood, trunk, and roof. You have to wash a car a lot in LA. Even if it sits in my parking lot for a week and it doesn't rain it will have a coating of disgusting grime.

It's all thule stuff. Go to the website and you can select and price out all the things you want. Sporting goods stores like REI usually have quite a bit of Thule/Yakima stuff in stock.

the roofrack isn't bad, but you should leave it off, youre just used to how it looks.

anyway, not a bad idea. They're on there now and I don't use them for anything because my bike got stolen a few months ago. I plan to get to the ski hill one of these days though.
