Will 92-94 front spring perches fit 04+ WRX springs?

I THINK yes, but I didn't have a loose set to try them out with.

Any confirmation, or do I need WRX upper perches?

I had all that stuff out when I switched my struts and I didn't try. It tears me up inside. although next week I'm taking my knuckle off so it wouldn't be too much extra work to take off the strut too if no one has the answer and you want to wait.

I think they will work Phil. I used WRX tophats in my car in the front, and they fit, so I can figure they are interchangable...

all front top hats are interchangeable.

phil - ryan (pwise) told me that the 1st gen. legacys are compeletly interchangable with the WRX suspension parts... if you're unsure, check out http://www.uklegacy.com/ under Gentral Technical-Pinned- Legacy/Impreza Interchangability

92-94 front Legacy perches are different from 93-03 front Impreza perches.

I don't know about 04+ Imprezas.

We're talking about bugeye and newer. All that thread mentions is the 1st gen impreza, and the one post relating to 04 STi stuff says it doesn't fit.

From going out side with a tape measurer right now they seem to be about the same. I can't really reach up in the tower very far, though.

Are the front perches different between 90-91 and 92-94?

Luckily I have both types at my disposal.

Can you use 04-05 springs on a bugeye or GC Impreza?

All first-generation Legacy front perches are the same.

No, unfortunately you cannot use 04+ WRX springs on an 02-03 or a GC Impreza.

I have 2004 WRX Struts and springs, and the rex tophats fit the front fine, no issues at all. The rears don't work, as the orientation of the lower bolts won't work on the Legacy with the WRX fixed-position tophat.

yes, we know that. The question is whether the upper spring perches are interchangable in the front, not the tops. Like I said, all the front subaru top mounts are the same, but the springs and therefore the spring perches differ.

Also Nick what are you using in the rear?

As far as tophats?

I just reused the stock SS ones...they seem to work fine...and mine were in great condition...

No my spindle hasn't shown up yet. It should be here tonight, though. I'll take everything apart when I get done with class tomorrow (at 1:30).

woo hoo. my spindle showed up so apparantly it wasn't broken. There is a nice hole in the side of the box though. Still want me to pull apart my strut when I replace it tomorrow?

The 93 Legacy perches are bigger.

In other news my spindle replacement is going alright. Ball joint popped right out. The tie rod end is being a bitch though.

I did the suspension on my buddies DSM today, and while I was at it, checked. Definately bigger, and incompatable.
