pressure sensor and air flow sensor died.

Post by biggreen96 »

Yeah 400 miles from home with a full load of people and board gear it dies. Good thing our motors have enough power to get around without getting into boost.

I dont know if the air flow sensor is dead, i think that code was thrown because i disconnected it and then tried to start the car.

I tested the pressure exchange solenoid valve and it still clicks.

the pressure sensor is 321.51 at subaruparts.com anybody have a cheaper source for one?

I don't think the EJ22T ECU can run without a functional MAF sensor, so that's probably okay.

Are you sure the pressure sensor failed? It might be an electrical problem or a problem with a hose.

If you do need to replace it, here's a cheaper option:

So what happened to the AVC-R?

The CEL for the MAF would be because you did unplug it. I remember getting some codes years ago because I was unplugging injectors to make sure everything was working right, but they were just stored until cleared.

Avc-r is still kicking, thats how i could get home without bumping into fuel cut at ~ 25% throttle. the avc-r has its own pressure sensor though right?

the hoses looked okay when i was poking around. although its time for all new vacuum line in the engine bay, ill do that very soon.

Update:
it was in fact a dead pressure sensor.

Yikes! You mean you didn't see Vikash's writeup on using much cheaper domestic pressure sensors to replace a faulty Subaru sensor?

what can I say? I like factory replacement parts. too bad that money could have gone to a fuel system upgrade. :x
