Boost controller.??

Post by turbonator »

I have a MBC that I'm going to use for my bmw this summmer but if I were to hook it up to my 91 and just run the stock downpipe with 8 or 10 psi would it be worth the effort..??

I guess I'll need a bosst gauge also..

8.7 stock, IIRC.

Do not touch your boost without first doing a boost gauge. So that should be ther first thing you do.

You can run 10 psi with reletive safety. It will give you slightly more pickup but in the long run if you're going to remove it to put in your bmw then I'd say no, it isn't worth it IMO.

Fuel cut will save you...or will it? It can't be good for the engine to hit fuel cut.

It isnt good for an engine to hit fuel cut because it means the engine is doing something it wasnt meant to be doing.

In terms of the actual fuel cut itself, the only thing thats bad about it is that it kills acceleration, the act itself doesnt cause harm.

I would think it would cause the engine to run extremely lean for a second.

Nice collection of vehicles you've got partially shown there.

A turbocharged BMW would be badass. I bet those parts don't come cheap!

Nico, I'm surprised at you. You own a car that you haven't jammed a turbo into yet? :-D

If I had the kind of shop that I think you have access to, I don't even think my big GMC truck would be naturally-aspirated for long...
