If your feet are warm in the winter then you don't need one, unless, of course, you would like to donate to my health insurance payment fund 
The heater core is the radiator type thing under the dash that gives you heat , or not, in the winter.
They are also usefull in science projects, as paper weights, musical instruments, and halloween costumes. Eveybody should buy extras just to have around and show people.
