Help with turbo selection

Post by stipro »

Ok here goes.

I have both a used TD04L and a TF035 turbo. Now these are slightly better tha the stock VF11, but maybe not what I want. I think I may like to try a VF8, based on price. The ideal turbo would be the TD05-16g but as I am going to school, out of my price range.

Now I could sell both of these turbo's to get the funds, but as far as the VF8 goes, would I find one in as is condition (meaning not have to rebuild) to replace the TF035, with 1000km's on it, and the TD04L, with 20k km's on it. What to do?, what to do?

From what I have researched......

The TD04L is similar in size to the VF11.
the VF8 is larger than the US TD04L but smaller than the TD05-16G.

The VF8's compressor side is comparable to the VF22, with a larger exhaust side. Although it is not ball bearing.

'Dilemma' does not adequately describe the situation.

the definition of dilemma is having to choose from 2 equally bad options, so splinter is correct, poor word choice :-D
