Auto and Manual ECUs

Post by Paul V »

Hi All,

Does anyone know the parts numbers SUBARU and JECS for the ist gen NA legacy's 90 -94 and will the auto ecus work in manuals and vica versa and how interchangable are they, this might sound like a stupid question but i'm interested to know, and what is the extra 28 pin socket inside the do , is this for some sort of upgrade? i repair electronics have designed electronics so I know a little here but know very little of automotive ecus.

maybe there is a link on the net with the part numbers and some tech info?

Hope someone can help :D :D

cheers

Looks like he reposted something from another forum, which he was equally helpful in.

Cut 'n paste ftw

guys,
Did I say something wrong?
Did i ask a question that alot of people ask?

Yes I did post the same question on the NASIOC forum and Legacy777 , (im sorry I cant remember the fellows name) helped me out with quite a few posts i made there. and he mentioned to come over here and have a look concerning the ECU questions.

As I have mentioned to other people yes i Live in Sydney, Australia the reason I post my questions on some US sites is there are more people with subies in your neck of the woods than mine!
Also alot of people pretend to know but have not the faintest idea about car mechanics/ electronics and the like.

I dont have internet access at home and make the odd post at work so that is why there is such a gap with my reply.
I'f i have pissed someone off let me know!
cheers and thanks for your help

No, you're fine. Check out the links vrg3 posted, and you should be able to find answers to your questions.
