:oops: hey i ave a question can ej20's heads fit onto ej22 n/a block. im curious because iknow that the ej22t is a fully close deck design but what about the n/a one.

The N/A 2.2 is open deck. Very different block from the EJ22T.

But they will fit the NA block if they fit the ej22t block, they are pretty much interchangable bolt and hole wise.

The EJ22e open deck NA block is stronger than most people give it credit for. It has always kind of been passed over because if you boost it as it stands, the compression ratio is too high and they self destruct from detonation.

IMO, putting EJ20G heads onto one is a very good idea. You will get a compression ratio that is very boost friendly. Without doing the math, my guess would be right around 8:1, or maybe a touch below. Since I am having a bitch of a time finding and EJ22T block for supercharged build, I am seriously considering using the Ej22E along with some Ej25 heads.

I know 4-5 guys that are running this set up for turbo applications and reliably pushing 12-15 pushing through it. One buy in particular has been running it for 2 years now, with no issues, and he beats on it on the street and takes it to the strip from time to time...

so you guys think it can be done then , but if i do what other parts would i need to do the swap.... intake manifold, ext. manifold etc and another question do i need to change something electrical i think i need to change the cam sensor or not?

Yeah, don't let the open-deck fool you. All you need is boost-friendly compression, and you're ready to make good numbers... with good tuning.

you only really need closed-deck blocks when your runnin' really high boost and agressive tuning. open-deck blocks run alot cooler than closed-deck blocks. and like what was said before, its the compression ratio that matters most.
