Tire Fitment??

Post by mattyg41383 »

I put the summers back on, and realized that a pair of my Dunlops are bald. 1990 Legacy Wagon, 15" 1997 outback wheels (as far as i know, same wheels as the SS)

Has anyone had trouble with and 205 width tires rubbing on the strut cradle. (where the bottom of the spring rests). And will tires in the range of 205/50 205/55 205/60 be an issue?

I'm looking at some Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 -- 195/50VR15
BFGoorich g-force sport -- 205/60/VR15
Yokohama AVS ES100 -- 205/60/HR15
Any other solid recommendations?

(Im in the midst of searching as well, finding some good info, just wanted to get some fresh ideas)

16" Subaru wheels come wrapped with 205/55R16 tires from the factory. Many of us are running this size with minimal problems (some of us do occasionally get rubbing in the rear when the suspension is heavily loaded in a corner though).

205/60R15 tires are approximately the same size.

thanks for quick reply... would having a lower (/50) sidewall make a big difference in speedometer accuracy as compared to a /60

but as long as there are no problems with a 205 rubbing, then Im a happy camper

much thanks. I think I'll end up going with a 205/55/15. Still narrowing down the choices.
