I did some research and found that I could get a set of EJ205 heads for fairly cheap. They apparently will bolt up to my project EJ22t engine, but I had a few concerns that I couldn't find answers to.
(This will be going in my 93' Impreza btw. I want to try to keep my ECU original and just do an safc or other EM.)
a) Will I need to use the EJ205 intake manifold? If so, will an EJ18 TB fit properly?
b) With the new DOHC heads, do I just line up each timing mark to it's perspective line and put on a WRX timingbelt?
c) Is the cam sensor any different?
d) Does the EJ22t exhaust manifold differ from the EJ205?
e) Lastly, does the fuel rail and injectors differ on these heads?
Anything else I should expect that I might be overlooking? If another set of dohc heads would be more of a plug-n-play option at a modest price, please feel free to chime in. Thanks~
Manny
Anyone running EJ205 heads on an EJ22t?

Look for threads by DZX and Nico. They have both tried this. The challenge is the cam sensor and triggers on the gears. They are very different on the post-'99 WRX engines. EJ20G or DOHC EJ25 heads would be an easier conversion...
