Hello all
I'm brand spankin' to this BBS. Here's the scoop
Bought my wife a 2001 Legacy Wagon. I like it so much I want one.
I found a '93 Legacy turbo Wagon in good shape for pretty cheap.
Since I was looking for a '95 and up, I have a wad of cash left.
I planned to immediately get new struts, springs, wheels and tires.
I've been combing mags for cool rims and now through you guys (and gals) I hear it may be hard to find rims that fit.
I'm looking to put on some 17s, (maybe 16s if I have to) on it. I haven't found an archive with this info, so probably for the gazillionth time on this site:
What is the bolt pattern and offset that will fit this car?
Cheers,
Gerald

Thanks for the info, this should make it easier.
A couple things..
mk750..any rubbing with that size rim and offset? What is the suggested size for that rim. I'm not looking to go massive or super low, maybe a 3/4" to 1" drop.
ciper..Assuming you mean wheels that fit WRXs, I assume they fit the '93 Turbo legacy wagon
VRG3 mentioned..Hub-centric? Must the hub bore be 56.1? can it be larger?
I've never had the pleasure of buying new rims, I'm new at rims over 15" and these larger offsets.
thanks again
Gerald

WRX wheels will fit on your car. Stock WRX tires are a little larger in diameter but it works okay for many of us (myself included). Ideally you'd put slightly lower-profile tires on WRX wheels.
For proper fitment, the hub bore has to be 56.1mm (assuming I have that number right; I think I do). Many aftermarket wheels have much larger bores and are meant to be used with centering rings that bring it down to 56.1mm... Any reputable shop that sells a lot of aftermarket wheels should be able to source them for you if they don't have them on hand.
There are some people who feel comfortable just using the lugs to center the wheels (since our cars have lug studs that's possible) but I don't think it's a good idea. With hub centering you can be much more confident that the wheel is balanced on the hub.

I use 205/45/17. It is damn close to the stock diameter ( .1" larger if i recall correctly). Before I lowered there was no rubbing at all at any time. When i dropped, it was at least 2 inches around, i did get rubbing in the rear, and slightly in the front under hard cornering. The rears i rolled w/ a piece of pvc pipe, eventually the inner fender liner in the front wore away enough not to rub
