o2 sensor part number??

Post by Project_Legacy »

does anyone know the part number i should be looking for, for an o2 sensor? i found so many, but is there a turbo specific one? what i am looking for is one i DONT have to splice/wire in. just one with the plug.
thanks in advance for ur help! o yea prices would help too. the ones i saw were between about 80 dollars and 130?

thanks for the site! will look into that. thanks!

also, i have aftermarket headers and it seems that the wires might be too short to reach its destination. iirc, the wires on the o2 sensor are different than normal wire. how would i lenghten it if i needed to?

Buy one for a non-turbo. The non-turbo sensor has a longer wiring harness.

o really? on that site, oxygensensors.com, i didnt see any different listing for turbo and non turbo. i chose a 91 legacy and the only engine options they had was 2.2 H4. is there different part numbers for turbo and non turbo?

EDIT: for some reason they dont list a turbo for 91. i tried 1993 and it shows one. thanks

why are they different? just cuz of the longer wiring? a non turbo one will work fine on my car correct? thanks!

i was lookin at the site again, and for some reason, the 90 and 91 N/A's list the same part number as a 93 and 94 turbo. but a 93 and 94 N/A is a different part number also. which one should i be getting?? the car is originally a 90 with a JDM motor that i have no idea what year it is. the ej22t heads and mani are from a 94 i believe, and the ecu from either a 92 or 93.

I have no idea which to get!! please help me out!

Yeah, it's just because of the longer wiring. Non-turbos have the sensor down at the base of the "Y" where the exhaust from the left bank of cylinders meets the exhaust from the right, so they need longer wires.

It's possible that some aftermarket oxygen sensor manufacturers list the same sensor for turbos and non-turbos (since you can just tie up the extra wire on turbo models). To be safe, I'd email the vendor and ask them which one has the longer wiring harness attached.

Doh. I got stuck at the dyno and by the time I got home, all I could think about was food. I am making a note to self to look tonight...

BTW, you can just unplug your O2 sensor and your car will run fine. I drove me touring wagon for 3-4 months with the O2 unplugged...

hahah. its all good. yea right now i am running with an unplugged o2. sometimes when im at high RPMS like 5k it seems to kind of pop and not wanna go any faster staying at 5k rpms. i was thinking maybe it was running way too rich since it has no o2 signal. so i want to get an o2 that i can easily plug in without having to extend wires, splice wires, etc crap like that. we tried to splice it in last time with solder (sp?) but it didnt seem to stick. look like the o2 wire was made of something else. but yea whenever u can that would be great. im not in too much of a hurry. thanks
