na to ej22t swap
hey guys whats up, i am trying to get the parts list together to swap from my 91 na ej22e to an ej22t, so so far i know i need, maf sensor, ecu, harness, motor, the pressure sensor solenoid setup, do i really need the crossmember? and also will a non turbo radiator work? or do i gotta get a turbo one? which clutch setup is best, this is a fwd setup(cannot afford to to swap and drivetrain swp right now) anything i am leaving out? also are there any aftermarket turbos that will bolt up to the stock flange? i know that somewhere there is a write up for this i remember seeing it, just cant find it, thanks you guys have been big help so far!
a legacy to be told
search about the radiator. this was covered VERY well in a few threads
regarding the crossmember, the NA wont work. I have heard that you can either dent in or cut and weld a notch on the NA crossmember to clear the factory turbo exhaust setup, but have never seen anyone do this first hand. the cut and weld should work pretty well and be totally possible but if its possible to dent it in that would be a lot easier lol.
turbo crossmembers are like $175ish used.

if u can get a turbo crossmember then id say, get it. they are hard to come by though. but then again denting the N/A one mite not be too bad of an idea. although, that metal is pretty strong. good luck to ya.
as for the radiator, there is a lot of talk about it, some ppl say dont some ppl say do. i basically just bought a brand new N/A replacement for mine and i havent had overheating problems related to having a turbo yet. ive had it in there for about a year now.

You'll be fine with a good working (new) n/a radiator. If you're concerned, add some water wetter.

The top N/A hose is fine, but I don't remember if I had to get a turbo hose for the bottom. I replaced it because it was original. The turbo water pump coupling is oriented differently so that may have also been a reason to replace it.
I don't think you can just use a hammer on the crossmember to clear turbo headers. It's pretty heavy metal and would need to be hit right on a 90 bend where it would be even stronger. In lieu of a turbo x-member or custom headers to clear the N/A unit, I'd cut the N/A X-member and weld in a patch.

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
I did buy new hoses, but the spot to where the lower hose goes in should be relatively the same. I'd have to check my parts book to see if the part #'s are different.
