Just got off the phone with Carbotech, the guy I spoke with said it looks like the 470's (93+ Impreza front pad) are very similar to their listing of the 563 pad (Legacy SS front pad), but he didn't want me to buy them and risk it not fitting.
I'm picking up a set of Panther+ for the track, he said if the 470s don't work, I can send them a core and have them relined for $10 extra.
The cliffnotes question is: Anyone ever compare ~93 Impreza front pads to Legacy SS front pads? Anyone ever use the Impreza pads on the Legacy? Brake gurus point me out to some differences...
Pad differences in 93+ Impreza and Legacy Turbo fronts?

Hmm, I wonder if it's just a matter of brake rotor thickness? I'd think they would work, but why don't you use the SS specific pads?

They don't have SS specific pads, really. They have SS specific pad linings, but don't have the backing plates.BAC5.2 wrote:Hmm, I wonder if it's just a matter of brake rotor thickness? I'd think they would work, but why don't you use the SS specific pads?
They said if I sent in cores, they would clean off the backing plate and re-line it with whatever compound I wanted.
But thats extra cost..only $10 extra but I don't have a set of worn front pads lying around, so I'd have to buy a set of junk pads from somewhere and send them in, turning into ~50 bucks extra.
He said the rear pads are no problemo, however.
He wanted me to find out for sure before ordering the Impreza fronts in case they were wrong so they didn't have to deal with a return and I didn't have to deal with the hassle.

See if someone has a set of stock pads they'd sell you for shipping.
If I still had my stock pads, I'd hook you up.
If they have diagrams of both pads, why can't they find out?
