Fuel Gauge Sensor? Never heard of it. Help!

Post by Drifting STi »

This Morning I filled up and got a bad fuel smell. :? Later on during the day my fuel gauge was bouncing up and down. I eventually got a CEL for faulty fuel gauge sensor. Can anyone help?

you know I had this happen some what.

we have a 1990 Legacy L wagon we just picked up used from priv sale it is in good shape runs well but I filled it up and a few days later at a stop light the gas gauge just drop as if I lost power or fuel. It did come back up but slowly and not to where it had been . Just did a fillup again and it working find but wife said it did to her but she was't sure she filled the tank all the way. we also noted a fuel smell the first few days too. I do know where fuel gauge sensor is but need to locate the one for our wagon and change it out or check the connecton as it has not happen again and i like to fix it.

thanks

just need to for fuel gauge sensor and any fuse and all.
