Rota SDR's on 91 T-leg?

Post by Imprezive »

I found a sweet deal on a set of 17x7.5 Rota SDR's w/ Kumho MX rubber (225/45/17) $550 for the whole set.

I checked and they weight 19.3lbs each. Which is around 3lbs heavier than stock, and the bigger rubber needed is 23lbs each.

So...42.3lb each :( 7lbs gain... If I went to a 215/45 tire I could save 2 lbs per wheel, and if I went down to a 215/40 (pretty unlikely) I could save an additional pound per wheel.

So first off I am worried about clearance, which I think I can deal with after rolling the fenders and getting stiffer springs and cutting the original spring perch off my wrx struts when I put the Ground Control coilover kit on it. But I don't know if the weight increase is worth it.

What do you guys think? Should I got for it?
