Girlfriend had the ASX's on her Passat (245/40/17). They were OK, but noisy.

Replaced with Pilot Sports. Much nicer. Much more bling though too.

Anyone use Avon MT500's? I am thinking of getting a set for my LGT rims. Its a tossup between them, BFGoodrich SP Sports, or Dunlop FM901.

I just got my 'BFGoodrich g-Force Sports' mounted, and I'm a big fan. Great traction, smooth, quiet ride. I dont know how they will wear though, so I cant comment on that.

I got 205/55/15 on the front and 195/60/15 rear on my fwd wagon.

We just got a used but in good shape 1990 Legacy L wagon AWD with 185/70-75(not sure)/14 Michelin and we noted the wagon isn't running at the right mph.

the wife had to go out of town we went got a rental for her she drove lead back home but said she at 60 or less as I was going too slow ut i had 65 to 66-68 on my speedometer. I took the car out with my laptop and GPS later and sure enough I'm running under by 3 to 4 MPH and the GPS isn't that off with speed. Was told to check tire size but these are in the manual as a size tire the L can handel and I check air and all is at spec as for PSI in the tires.

I can live with the speed being off a bit but if i need ti fix it I like to know where to go from here.

Ok thanks

According to Cars101.com, the stock tires on that car should be 185/70HR14.

You can also check with this site [ http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html ] to punch some numbers in and see how different tires will affect your speedo reading.

Its also possible that the speedo cable might need to be lubed, any one else agree?

You now I said that to some other people and they said that it had to be the tires.. it makes more sence as i check the tires and they are good on air and size. so how do I get the cable lubed?

OK, I ordered the General Exclaim UHP's from Tire rack and got them in 2 days! Wow, props to Tirerack! I haven't put the tires on yet but when I do, I'll post up a review.

Look good, don't they Matt?

I may get a set for the 17's if I ever buy new tires for them.

that is quite a sexy tire.

i think i just found the replacement for my 712s.

good god are they cheap. and the reviews on the tire rack seem pretty positive.

the only negative i am seeing is that a few say the sidewall is a bit too soft.

Okay, so there's a guy locally who has WRX wheels for sale with 500-mile Falken Ziex ZE502 in size 205/40-16. Opinions on the tires/the different sizing?

Yeah, I liked the tread pattern in the pics on line but it is bad ass looking in person. They look killer and the grip is supposed to be awesome. I figure at the price, I can tear 'em up without feeling guilty. I'll really put them to the test too, no worries there. It will be a quite thorough review. :D

Yeah, the Generals sound awesome! Keep us posted long term..

Maybe I should start a different thread but the Generals don't come in 15's. Question, what's the best value performance tire (NOT all season, M&S etc.) that will fit our stock rims?

And by value I mean cheap but good...Of course Bridgestone S03's are great tires but I'm talking in the 60 to 80 buck per tire range...

Thanks in advance for input!
