whats good!!
ok so i just wanted to say THANK GOD i found this forum not alot of legacy lovers out there!
ok so im going for vacation this summer for about 4 months! im staying at my gmas house and she gave me her 1993 subaru legacy(2.0) and ive been searching for engine mods i hope to get all the info in this forum!
i havent done much to it all ive done is put a stereo system and a exhaust oh and hid lights!
for some reason the exhaust doesnt sound as loud!
if theres any mods for the engine if you guys could led the way thanks!
i will be searching the forum thanks!

im sorry yes it is a 2.2 my bad i dont think 2.0 excist do they? yes i dont have turbo on it =( i cant seem to find the intake for it on ebay i only find like 95 and up legacy intakes!
also is it posible to find the sport sedan hood scoop?
ebay is kinda new to me...

There are 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 outside of the US.
You're going to have to fabricate something to get an intake. You'll also have better luck finding a turbo hood, rather than the scoop itself, unless you're comfortable making holes

my name isnt deman, but you did post a question on my site about the scoop.
well there are tons of places to find intakes for the N/A. just gotta look around.
also DLC said it. as far as finding a scoop for it. i might be willing to sell ya mine. i think i might be getting rid of it. ill hit this post again if i decide to after this weekend.

There aren't a whole lot of mods for the n/a legacy for huge power gains but there are some topics you will find if you use the search button at the top of the page. To get you started, you should be able to get reground camshafts for the car and you could pull the heads off and port and polish them along with the throttle body. And get a K&N airfilter although that really wont show much for gain at all.

if you want an intake, you have to get the ones they list for newer non-turbo legacies or imprezas. its basically the same thing. it should fit on yours with no modifications as it did on my 2.2L legacy N/A. and sorry i guess you do have a 2.0. didnt realize you were outside of the U.S.

yeah i figured there would not be alot of mods but few is good enough! ok im not a genius with engines ..what are reground camshafts? where are the heads located so i can polish them and the throttle body...so im guessin any filter will fit?There aren't a whole lot of mods for the n/a legacy for huge power gains but there are some topics you will find if you use the search button at the top of the page. i have no idea how much HP your car has stock. and if the motor sits the same way as the 2.2L here in the states does then yes it would fit that legacy. the start of the intake from the motor should be up top close to the firewall and goes down towards the passenger side front of the car. that is how the 2.2L one is.

ok you see that picture my engine looks the same BUT the black box i dont have that...where the black box is i have the spart plugs and you can see the headers i will try to upload my pic its not that good but i will see what i cand do
iive seen not alot of mods can be put on the 2.0Gl N/A what kind of engine do i have wahts the name?

the black box... are you talking about the black cover in the middle of the engine? thats just a cover. doesnt do much. but yea if that is the same way you engine is, then yes you can use the 95 legacy air intake. i have the same thing on my 91 legacy.clos36 wrote:

i SERIOUSLY dont think you should get those heads port/polished. i mean if money is a factor, doesnt port/polish cost a couple hundred dollars? the camshafts should be a good way to go. search on the forum for delta cams. im not sure of their website. other than that there is not a lot you can do left, besides a motor or head swap. on top of that, im sure not a lot of us here on this board know much about the 2.0L N/A Legacy motor. the cams will probably give you the biggest gains in horsepower.
does anyone else know anything about this 2.0L legacy motor??? because im wondering, if he would be able to use the rocker arms from the 1.8L on there also.

i think the delta cam regrinds are like 69.99 per cam? or somewhere around there. you would have 2 of them so around $150 or so.
rocker arms are what is inbetween the cam and the valve. the cam pushes on the rocker arm, and in turn pushes the cam open. the 1.8 liter impreza engine is supposed to have better rocker arms than the 2.2 liter legacy engine. but i dont know if it has the same ones as a 2.0 liter as you have. no one i know, knows anything about that motor.

heheh yea no problem. there is a stock legacy turbo wing that you could put on there. its just a small little one. i think you might have to get the whole trunk with it tho. im not entirely sure.

sorry about the thread jack but I am wondering about putting the 1.8 rockerarms in a 2.2turbo. Is there really a benefit? Wondering since I have access to a 1.8 motor and have my motor completely apart. Also I was talking to a suby tech who said the 1.8 had stiffer valve springs. Would this be worth putting into the 22t with the roller rockers? I already have delta cams and I am planning on a stand alone to run the thing. very interested...
