Impreza/Forester RSB fitment question.

Post by Imprezive »

Before you say anything, I DID look at the Stickified compendium. And it just so happens that is the reason I am typing this;

In the compendium, it says neither the Impreza base nor the Impreza RS rear sway bar fits our cars. I have a 91' SS, so thats a BC chassis right? Because I am thinking of getting a Whiteline adjustable bar, and the legacy one only goes to 22mm and on boxer4racing it says it doesnt fit 90-92 models.

Is the reason the bars don't fit because of the lack of an exagerated dip in the bar to clear the spare tire/jack pad area? I know thats the reason the wrx RSB doesn't fit. Can someone enlighten me? ;-)

90-91 Legacies have a different rear lateral link and endlink setup. However, I was under the impression that the swaybars were still interchangeable. On the PDM racing website they don't specify different 90-91 and 92-94 bars. Also the adjustable bar listed there is 20-24mm

Another reason a WRX sedan bar won't fit is because it's slightly wider.

I have heard of people using a jack and a socket or something to bend the section of tirewell out of the way to fit an Impreza bar.

hmm, I heard that the endlinks would be able to flex enough to make a wrx bar usable. I know people have put wrx rear bars on, so its no impossible. would the impreza bar be the same width as the wrx bar?
