Newer Legacy seats in a 1st gen

Post by jnorion »

How well do the newer Legacy seats, such as the leather sport seats from the 3rd and 4th gen GTs, fit in the 1st gen? I mean, I know they bolt up, but does anyone know how they affect the ride height? Can you make the power adjustable ones work?

I'm looking at this type:

Seats effect the ride hight? Kewl! Was looking for a new way to lower my car!

hehe kidding. *ducks*

I would like to know also. I always feel like im in a booster seat in my legacy and wouldnt mind sitting a couple inches lower in the cockpit.

I had 01 2.5RS seats in my 93, and I sat higher. I know WRX seat swaps have been done, so you may want to consider that. My gut instinct tells me that they should work just fine.

I was hoping to find seats that were more supportive than stock without riding higher. I've read about the WRX seats, and I've read that any later-model seats will bolt up, so I was just wondering if anyone had real-world experience with these particular ones.

I can let you know in a week or two. I have a set of front buckets from a 05 Legacy GT that I bought local off ebay for nothing, yippie, that I plan on getting installed soon. The install is about third on my list of mods going on right now so it just has to wait.

Word, I know my LGT Limited seats have lots of motors in them (all power adjustments) but I'm not sure how much higher, if at all, they will position the driver and front passenger over the stockers.

My biggest wonder is whether or not rear seats from a 00-04 legacy wagon will fit in my 93. Anyone have any input?

Do wrx seats have the little ratchet-type height adjuster? My brother just installed wrx seats in his 1991 SS. So its deff. compatible. As for ride height I dont know.
