I just put the ej22t in and turned the crank to make sure I'm getting decent compression. Here's my results

Well first off, I'm very happy the numbers are up there on a cold motor, fresh head rebuild. My concern is that the 1&2 seem kind of high on a cold motor don't they? Perfect spec on a 2.0 dsm motor is 155ish. Does that seem ok? What are they from the factory?

Meh, wouldnt worry about it. As long as they are all close to eachother.
Have you run the motor to seat the rings and such? Or did you just rebuild and replace the heads?
I'd run the motor for a bit, then check the compression and leak-down.

Ah thanks for the suggestion. The shortblock seemed to be in good condition, so I just had the heads rebuilt. I was just worried when I saw 168! I didn't think it would be that high for a turbo motor (aren't these like dsm's 7.9:1?) Anyway, I'll do what you suggested and run it then recheck.

When we did my compression check, my friend checked his FSM at work and it said 170psi was perfect. service was needed if there was a difference of 28psi. i think I think that is what I remember.
