motor swap

Post by GotSubie »

hi
Well im in the game now cuz i just bought a 1991 legacy ss with a blown motor, i think it spun a rod bearing. The JDM the im buying for five hundred dollers (ej22t) has a lot of thing on it already like the turbo heads and other things, but im wondering what i should relpace while the motor is out, i only have five hundred dollers to spend on other parts so can u give me some ideas besides spark plugs, plug wires and an oil filter.
thanks,
Jason

The jdm version of the turbo motor is a ej20g. The usdm was the only one that got the ej22t. Anyway, while its out you should probably replace the oil pump o-ring, the front main seal and the water pump at least. It should be good for quite a while with those things done. Then just change the oil at the regularly scheduled intervals and you should be good.

Oh yeah, where are you from?

You will be able to find a lot of information if you do a search for it.

O i just thought that because the guy thats getting the motor for me said that it was a JDM ej22t motor so i geuss he was just wrong about the JDM part o well it doesent matter anyway. My name is jason i live in Vancouver,WA. So what kinda of subie do you drive. Also what are normal performance upgrades that SS owners do after they have a STI top mount, full STI suspension swap, STI short shifter, stage lll clutch kit, and gretty tpye r BOV? cuz thats pretty much all i have im just looking for more.
