Hasn't Subaru always had ridiculous reinforcement in those areas?

My mom and I got in an accident in her 92 Touring Wagon and walked away unharmed after being broad sided by a nissan Maxima. Car was even repaired.

Yeah, I have a very similar story. My first BCBF was killed by an old lady in a big domestic who T-boned us in the front passenger door. Both cars totalled, she went to the hospital, me and my 3 friends got out of the Legacy shaken but without a scratch. The Legacy was obliterated, but nothing penetrated the passenger cabin.

I like the new Subarus...

Well, most of them.

The Edsel ones just better watch out though, coz I'm gonna try crashing into them 1) to make their front ends look better and 2) to test to see if they really are that crashworthy.

I'll go look at another thread now.

I don't mind the vagina front end as much as I did. But the 06 WRX looks odd with those wheels and that ride height.

The new ST"I" though, is pretty attractive I think. If I had the ability, I'd pick up a white on gold one.

Thats crazy, one more reason to buy an STI before an Evo! mwahahaha

I dont mind the new front end, but it lacks the aggressive styling that the 04-05's had. It looks too much like the regular wrx save the huge wing. oh yeah, the wrx wheels are hideous IMO and heavy (something like 20lbs each).

They should advertise it better. They've had among the best lab safety and real-world safety for years. Funny, that rod in the Forester B pillar is exactly what I am going to weld into the ones on my Legacy. I noticed how perfectly they would fit when I stripped the old turbo.

I've wondered how safe our cars are. I've never seen crash test results for our cars.

I took an eight foot drop into a ditch at 65 mph in my first leggy ('90). It bent the whole front of the car up about an inch, and craked the windsheild at the lower corners from flexing.

Then I drove it through 100 yards of 6" deep mud to the field entrance to get back on the road. Radiator was still fine. My cousin bought it from me for $250. He put 20k miles on it before the head gasket went.
