What is the bracing just in front of the engine rad about
Subtle (normally aspirated engines suck):
05 Legacy GT Wagon with Cobb chip.
62 Alfa Romeo Spider- had a 1.6 L with 80 hp, now 2 L with 160 torque. Curb weight 2050 lbs.
93 Leg Twgn fmic, vf34, etc. ((sold))
yep the bracketry is for teh front mount which weighs about oh, 15-20 lbs. its freakin 4 inches thick adn barely fits . it sits flush with the top adn bottom of the bumper cover.
phil, the core is presesion bar and plate. 3 inch outlets still need to be resolved as i only had 2.5's before. that adn teh outlets are at the top because they have to be so more piping adjustments need to be made.

i can most likely have fogs but not likely will have them oem ones wont fit now and aftermarket ones wont fit under covers. the bucket on the drivers side is pretty hacked because i was trying to fit piping where it really was impossible. there is still an area to mount the fogs but im just not sure. i wont get them unless i have covers they will fit under adn belive me. its really tight.
oh adn i took a page out of phil's book adn decided to see how stealth would look. i still have the option to go bling but i wanted to see how it looked and i like it. not only that but i did teh area behind so that there wasnt blue behind teh fog buckets

I assume you're doing custom piping? If so can you take a couple of shots once you get the driver side done?
I REALLY like the color of your Impreza. I'm hoping I can find another one for my gf, auto, 2door, in that exact color. But they are getting harder to find here in CA with how popular swaps are now. What year is it and is that RBP?
Keep up the good work.

hahaha, i wish it was rbp. its actualy the nasty green color that has some blue in it. not quite seafom not quite blue. ill take some pics of the piping tonight.
just be prepared to cut alot.
all of the metal next to the bumper beam holes needs to go adn maybe a little bit of the horizintal bit under the abs. angle grinder ftw. also im sure you already noticed but the fog buckets sti really close to that metal bit, so the easiest way to keep fogs is outlets at the top 2 45's to clear the bumper (youll need to trim a ton of the bucket though no matter what way you do it) up and 90 thorugh the snorkus hole ect. youll need to slove intake issues though because it leaves you with zero space. i got made fun of major for my 3 inch carb intake.

You weren't kidding about the cutting.....And you're able to fit the bumper over it huh? Did alot have to come off the inside sides of the bumper? Looks like a solid install though.

i had the pipes welded for the legacy which had a really long thin core with 2.5 outlets adn it sat really low. this core is shorter, thicker and taller. chassis requirements wouldnt let me run outlets on the bottom and it has 3 inch outlets. so i had reducers made to compensate for the core outlet size, and cut the piping so that it would rise up more. after it runs im gonna take it down to a fabricator who is really good at what he does and have him weld together the pieces that were cut. i want to reduce the amount of silicone too.
btw, i replaced nearly every single coupler and tbolt for less than 150. crapiest welder runs 300. so i think i still win.
oh and i doubt ill be able to put blinker in the pass side. i took out way too much material and its still close. imo with a setup like this the pass side is the worse for the bumper the drive side is worse for the metal. also that core is 4 inches thick adn 12 inches tall. thats exactly the depth and the bumper adn the height too. it goes from the verry bottom to the very top. next time i put it together ill take a pic of the clearence.
