HELP!!! No fuel. fuel pump not truning on

Post by azn2nr »

tried to start the swap today and it would turn over but not fire. havent checked the spark yet but i know for sure that there is no fuel. there is no pressure in the hose and no fuel in it either.

everything else so far is going good. no door chime, or airbag, or cel lights but batery and oil stay on. everything else is pluged in that i can find mates to. all others are asumed to be accsories that have yet to be pluged in. ie cruise, radio, ect.

how do i fix this? sugestions??

check to make sure you're getting 12V at the fuel pump connector in the back.

Did the fuel pump turn on? Might have been a bad relay.

Oil light is on because you have zero oil pressure in the motor. Crank it until the light goes out before you start it.

Does the Check Engine light turn on when you turn the ignition switch on?

It might sounds something stupid, but did you check the fuses in the fuse box? If they're all fine you might want to try to hot-wire the fuel pump and see if it's still working or not......

Wait, you switched the fuel pump relay and now the fans don't turn on? What fans are you talking about?

If you're talking about the blower, I think you found the blower motor relay rather than the fuel pump relay. They're both the same type of relay.

If you're talking about the radiator fan, why was the radiator fan coming on when the car wasn't started?

tore the car apart again. no change.

new devlopment though. there were 2 male wire ends outside of their clip. black wires both of them. they were taped to 2 other wires that were in a clip. without checking i pluged them into the clip when i promptly realized. the clip was female. i cant get the wires out thus far after 3 hours of trying. i need a bigger needle methinks. it still bothers me that thoes 2 wires were sitting there like that.

As I said on NASIOC, those wires were like that from the factory. I never touched them! You should not plug them in...

You really need to start systematically trying to trouble shoot this. Your current approach is like throwing darts with a blincfold on.

Step 1. Check for ECU power and that the main power relay is set up correctly...

i think its grounded wrong. i swear i have powers that are grounded and grounds that are not. i get power to the ecu if its grounded to one pin and no power if i switch grounds. is seriously pissing me off. and that dam oil light wont turn off. i cant figure this thing out. why couldnt everything stay correct instead of breaking [/rant]
