Casting for TV reality show, including Legacy build - Legit!
Hi guys-
You may recall that I hosted a reality show pilot last fall. Well, it's going to series and I'm the host, so we're looking for two things:
First, we need 96 contestants who are willing to take four days to build a car for competition (you see why rally people are involved, right?) near the Toronto area this summer.
Second, we're working with suppliers from OEM to aftermarket to corner shops to supply equipment and expertise to the show, for credit and advertising exchange.
We're building everything from Legacies/Imprezas (for rallycross) to lowriders to Datsun 510s to Mustangs to Beetles to 240SX to Jeep YJs to Neons to Golfs etc. etc.
If you think you're interested in either of the role of participant or supplier, contact me at musketeerracing@yahoo.com

Hope some of you guys get on. You'd kick a$$.

Exhausted but proud...
Wow, just came back of this never ending week! Thanks Andrew for this one of a kind experience. I'm exhausted but happy to have participated to this challange. Can't wait to see it on TV. Those are two kick ass rally car that we built.
From me and the rest of my "Killer -B-" team members; Thank you and FOM you ! (got to see the show to understand this)
Here in Canada I took place in the filming of a TV show part of a serie called WAR OF THE WHEELS. It's kind of a copy of Monster Garage. The difference is that its two teams of 4 competing against each other for 3 days !
WAR OF THE WHEELS
I got a call to be part of one of the show for building a rally car. The car was a 1991 Legacy turbo. I guess someone told them I was "kinda" expert on this car...as I didn't put my name down for this ! Maybe someone told them I owned 6 legacy at one time... But I got to tell you that the host of the show is one of our canadian rally drivers...
So anyway, I went to the casting with my girlfriend wich was taking place where I use to work (DMS shocks). Funny how they thought it would make a great show if they made sure that the teams were composed of poeple that never worked together and splitted the ones that are use to it!
Team A (Killer B ) as in Group B era...
-Frank Sprongl (Canadian Rally champion(driver), Rally preparator)
-Nick (me) (Rally preparator, service crew, Legacy freak, Aircraft mech)
-Francois (Tranny expert, service crew)
-Jen Horsey (Reporter, Rally tv commentator)
Team B (Rally Mafia)
-Dan Sprongl (Canadian Rally champion (codriver), Rally preparator)
-Mark (DMS notrth America)
-Ben (Ecutek North America)
-Elise (Suzuki canada team codriver, data analyser) (my girlfriend)
Both teams started with a stock 1991 Legacy turbo. The goal was to build the best rally car with a certain budget. Since it was imposible with the amount given, the rule was basicly buildthe best recce car.
The cars are now up for sale on Ebay but the show haven't aired yet.
KILLER B rally car
RALLY MAFIA rally car
All the other cars of the TV serie are for sale too.
We did a small rallycross to determine the winners as both teams were equal in points at the end of he build week !
My team won !
It felt bad to "destroy" to perfect 1991 Legacy... Those are really hard to find here. But at least they end up as rally cars... Not pimp rides.

Found this while browsing through Ebay. I didn't even know they were going to be up for sale before the show airs on TV !

I don't know the reserve, but there was some expensive stuff installed to those cars during the shot. It's worth more then the cars
There's some errors in the pink description... It had HotBit suspension installed, not DMS. No Omex ecu neither... But water spray, 4.44 lsd, WRX intercooler, new brakes, terratrip 404, Rollcage, skid plate, roof vent...
So the perfect rally cross beater !

Im a more than a bit mechanically enclined, however my area of expertise is 60s and 70 MoPars (Chrystler, Dodge, Plymouth) I know about carbs and tortion bar suspensions.... not much on newer things like Fuel injection and McPherson Struts.
Let me know If I can be of any use,

My high-school mechanics teacher recorded and re-playyed the episode to all of his students, including me.
The interesting part of it is that I have had my 91 Legacy AWD Turbo 5speed sitting on the hoist all year while I have been tearing it down and reconditioning/replacing/upgrading parts.
Since showing the episode I have recieved MUCH more respect from my fellow students and felt a kick in my own ass to get it running so I can go Rally!!!
ALSO, It was on MenTV where available.
