That shit is so ugly.
The actual STi lip is like 10 times better looking.

I think it would look better if it went all the way across. If it had side skirts and a rear lip that matched, it would look much better too.
I think it's cool anytime people do custom one off stuff though, regardless of wheather or not it looks perfect. The cool thing is that he did it.

I'm with Jason on this one, I think it's kinda cool looking. It would look better if there were deeper side skirks, but it'd also look better if it was lower.
The split lip effect works for me.

It's the edge, it goes down and out instead of following the contours of the bumper.

Yep, with the edge trimmed it would look really nice, it's better than garden plastic edges!

i think it looks okay.
Would i do it to my car? heck no, i like to drive into and out of ditches, through piles of rebar, and also i like to drift into piles of snow and snowbanks, so that thing would just be broken to bits on my car in about 2 seconds.

I think it would look good if it had the matching side and rear. It still wouldn't be my style - I prefer the beat up, old, workhorse, sleeper look - but I think with matching lips all around it would at least look good for what he's going for.

Scanning this thread...Is that an RS hood scoop. Looks cool...I'll have to search and see how hard it is to retrofit those scoops onto our hoods...Anyone care to comment?

I was going to post this myself, but I would have called it "Ghetto garage front lip"!!!
I really like how some of the JDM and Auzzie lips look on our cars, but they are way out there on price, so I thought I would try something just to see how it would work.
Here is my own constructive criticism. I think it is decent from direct front view, but not on the sides. The sides angle down too far. It might work if one were to cut off the bottom "lip" that is formed into the bumper. It wouldn't sit as far down, nor have as steep of angle on the sides. It would look less like a hastily added afterthought. There is a flat surface underneath, at the level of the molded in lip on the factory bumper, but I don't know if it is sturdy enough to hold a bolt on lip by itself. Plus, I can easily take this off and go back to stock, but if I cut it off I am pretty much out of luck if I didn't like it! The molded in "lip" limits what can be done aesthetically because of how it dips down at the sides and how the plastic is formed to look like a lip. It gives a double dip finished look once something else is attached.
For what it's worth the mounting was done by centering it, clamping, drilling and bolting it along the front. I then clamped the end pieces in place and warmed them with a heat gun to be able to bring the sides down from a much more horizontal position to where they are now.

I used to be full, but I'm finally MT !!
This might be a good time to ask about side skirts. I think the G8s will work on our car but you have to cut them down a bit? Anyone know? Done this to their car or has links to photos? Great thread!
