Anybody have an accurate measure of how far the EJ22T pistons protrude above the block face at TDC?
And can anyone confirm the thick (1.2mm?) and thin (0.5mm?) head gasket thickness? Which engines use the "thin" gaskests and/or part numbers?

EJ22T Deck Hight?
No matter how broke I am... I always seem to find two cents.
From what I remember from assembling my motor, I don't think the pistons protrude above the block face.
This pic sort of confirms that with the build up spots.

They DO protrude. At least on the 93 I did a couple months ago. I will be assembling my currant project within a week or so. I will take a measurement with a straight edge and a feeler guage.
Unless someone already has those numbers.

Josh, the build up in your pic shows where the rings stop wiping, not the top of the piston. Great pic tho, got any more of your build?
206r, I’ve got the EJ20G(N) DOHC heads (220hp Liberity w/HLAs). Ideal piston to head clearance is around 0.030” so if I can get the measurements I can buy all my parts before I tear my car apart… Just tryin to minimize my time off boost if ya know what I mean
. I’m really hoping I can use the thin gaskets to keep the CR closer to stock. I will be running these heads with my VF24 Turbo for a low lag DD/street/autoX setup, so lower CR and mega boost don’t suit my needs. I may even consider milling the heads to keep the CR inline, tho I haven’t look to see if there is enough material on the face of the heads for this. And then the cam timing needs to be corrected, custom machined T-belt idlers will cover that tho.
Napphappy, Thanks, if you get a chance that would be great!

It's in the FSM that Josh has scanned. It's under engine specifications where it lists out or roundness and bore taper wear limits, etc. etc...
