Help me troubleshoot this noise!!1!

Post by IronMonkeyL255 »

Recently (since the Dragon meet), I have noticed I get a squeaking noise from the front of the car whenever I turn any to the left. Even if I gently weave back and forth in my own lane. It seems to correspond with wheel speed, as well as seeming to get worse the more the wheel is turned.

Anyone have any ideas of where I should look? Maybe lightly dragging brake pad?

Also, I seem to get a 'creaking' when the right front suspension compresses. I have pulled that wheel off, but there doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong or out of the ordinary. I lubed my sway bar bushings with PB blaster, so I don't think those are the culprit.

I may have found the squeaking issue!

It looks like my right front bumper had come off of its support right in front of the wheel. When checking other stuff, I wiggled it and got a very similar sound to what I've been hearing.

A hole drilled and a zip-tie inserted seems to have done the trick. I'll see if that's the only thing the squeak was when I drive it later.

Nobody has any ideas...?

The bumper seems to have fixed some of it, but I still get it at extreme turning angles, as well as I seem to get the same noise going left or right at those extreme angles. It seems like more of a creak than a squeak at those angles as well.

Nothing like an axle creaking, right? My rotor backing plate got a little bent somehow, and it sounded terrible, like a pad draggng. Bending it back a little completely fixed it.

Grr... It's back.

I'm gonna pull the front end apart this weekend and see if I can find something.
