cut off switch for the alternator mounted on the trunk.
so without having to run 13 feet of battery cable. from the engine bay back to the switch on the trunk to kill the batter how do you suggest that i do it. i already have battery cable going from the trunk to the engine bay. but not i need to have a alternator to power shut off just so i can race. its totally dumb. but does anyone have any suggestions?

I think you're supposed to have the alternator wired to the battery side of the kill switch, or use a two-pole kill switch. The first way you have to run one new length of cable; the second way you have to run two. In either case, you have to run the extra battery cable to be safe.
Why do you think it's totally dumb? You don't think a kill switch is necessary?

no i think its totally cool to do. but..... the guy at the track is just picking on me. he lets everyone with a battery in the trunk, even if its not stock. go through except for me. for some reason he has it out for me and i have no idea why.

nope no classes. then i made the mistake of calling him out on the fact that he lets others race without them. haha that was a bad move. cause now he gets into more and more detail with his inspections. and i still see him letting the same people race.

Is this SCCA? If so, I would get in touch with the leadership and give them your documented facts of his discrimination - they'll pull the chapters rights to race under the SCCA name, and thus insurance.thehookeup wrote:nope no classes. then i made the mistake of calling him out on the fact that he lets others race without them. haha that was a bad move. cause now he gets into more and more detail with his inspections. and i still see him letting the same people race.
Everyone has to be teched the same, regardless.
The only battery related rules in SCCA is that it must be strapped down and in a location which is suitable for your class.

No... don't do that. Just talk to the event chairman. Go one level above the person that is giving you the problem. If that person can't fix it, go one level above that person, etc. Going to the national organization will just piss off everyone in your chapter.scuzzy wrote:
