Yeah, I'd heard that some imports were generally comprised of more american-made components than domestics. Kinda makes you think, like until your head hurts

The Tundra is 100% designed, developed, and built in the USA. Toyota of Japan has 0% to do with the Tundra.

I knew the Sienna was mostly American-built too, when I worked at the Toyota dealer and saw mostly Siennas in the shop

domestic people will argue that corporate profits of foreign auto makers go out of the country, but their payroll goes out of the country.

The plant is still running. It's producing Legacies, Bajas, and Tribecas.

It used to be Subaru and Isuzu, but Isuzu moved out.

Toyota is about to move in. The factory is under-utilized right now.

Didn't Toyota buy a bunch of Subaru stock once GM left?

Not a BUNCH, per se. GM sold all their shares, which accounted for 20% of FHI. Toyota bought enough of them to get 8.7% of FHI, becoming the new largest shareholder, and the other 11.3% went to private investors.

Subaru doesn't have a plant in Gary, it's in Lafayette.

They produce the Legacys and the Tribecas (all Legacy chassis basically).

Toyota has done some modernizing there and is building cars there now.
