Post by Splinter »

Theres a whooshing noise that sounds like a disconnected vacuum hose under my intake manifold on the passenger side

Purge control solenoid?

You can hear it from 2-3 feet away with the engine on

you wont get a purge code i dont think. unless the solenoid is bad or disconnected from the harness...

have you replaced any of your vacuum lines?

generally the first one to go that i have noticed are all of the ones off the vacuum port for the map, charcole canister actuator. thathat junk goes bad.

the best way that i find leaks is run the car, and just strat grabbing each vacuum line with my hands untill it disappears or idles better. its probably just a small small crack

Vacuum line to the pressure sensor is fine, Ive run all new lines there, I dont have a line to the aux purge anymore (running NA canister)

I routed a coolant line under the manifold, so Im thinking it might have pushed off one of the lines

Unfortunately, with the engine hot, those lines are hard to get at.

It probably was related.

A disconnected vacuum hose will respond to the starting fluid test.

i noticed a loud hissing noise sounding like a leak after i intercooled my car.... turns out it was just the BPV leaking at idle like its supposed to.

if you kink/plug the vacuum line going to the BPV does the sound go away? (the car wont want to run either) thats what it was on mine anyways, this is with the stock BPV.
