Mid temp starting problem. ????

Post by Radial GT1 »

Allright, I have searched this and I can't find anyone else that has the same issues as me.

It is a 93 SS w/ an Auto.

Trouble: I drive the car and it is up to temp. Park it for an hour or two, go to start it and right when I hit the key to start it, it will fire once and fall on it's face. I have to hit the key a couple of times and it will sputter to life. I am positive it is not fuel related, when it does start smells very much like fuel. It is like the spark kicks out and than comes back on. It has new fuel filter, plugs, and wires. No CEL illuminated when running.

Also on a possibly related problem, when I am getting on freeways and what not, laying into the boost about 5 lbs it will seem like it isn't accelerating. After a couple of seconds all of a sudden it gets it's act together and starting driving like a turbo vehical. Seems like weak spark signal or something.

Anyone help on this deal?

Coolant Temp. Sensor. Set you back about $20. What you describe sounds of typical symptoms of an ailing one.
