Hey all, I just picked up a '93 Sport Sedan pretty cheap yesterday, and began modding it today. Take a look at my photos http://community.webshots.com/album/552298950JohbnM.

It needs some body work, but this was the first one I've seen for sale locally in about 4 years. I already have KYB AGX on the way as well as EBC Green Stuff pads, and EBC Sport Rotors all the way around... hoping the calipers arent trash, becuase I dropped a hot dollar on those parts.

If you look at the pics, you can see my variation on the Coffee Cup Mod... its the COCKTAIL SHAKER MOD. I picked up a stainless cocktail shaker at Target and modded it up. You'll also notice the air box outlet is at a different angle. Its from my brother's '98 Legacy GT. Its got a larger diameter intake from the fender, and there are fewer harsh bends. Removed snorkus, obviously.

The brakes are in really bad shape, so I havent driven it other than lollygagging from the guys house to the shop... So I would like to hear what a baseline 1/4 mile would be for an auto tranny car ('ll search as well). Plans include TD04, 3" exhaust, necessary fuel control / injector upgrades.

let me know what you think, suggestions, etc.

Nice set up.

Particularly on using the 98 Leg air box---was it the top and bottom both, or just the top fitted to the OEM :?:

Used the bottom as well... the hole in the '98 box (the part that leads to the fender) is larger, so we decided to use that. Its loaded with a Green filter that was in the GT prior to his recent cold air install.

Edit to previous post: I actually ordered EBC Green Stuff pads, and EBC Sport Rotors.

I'm off to the DMV to make the sale official.

Do the fastening holes to the chassis line up :?:

The angle on the top part of the box looks to provide a less convoluted flow than the original. :-)

Does it use the same sized filter?

yeah, bolts right up. there were a few other '98-'99 cars in the shop and they all had the same box, so there are plenty of em around. Probably 95+ are the same. Same size filter, I used a Green perf filter.

was it worth it? did it add any performance? what did you do about the vacume lines that go to the oringinal box

still getting it road worthy, so I havent had a chance to test before/after. I have to assume that smoothing out that path makes a positive difference. I know that generally you can just 'boost' around corners, but taking those turns out should make a noticable difference.
We teed off of the cocktail shaker just like everyone else who did the coffee cup mod. I would like to redo it with a piece of 45* Mandrel bent, and weld in tees for the lines, but this should do the trick until then.
Tonight, when i get back into town, the KYB AGX, and some sensors and whatnot are going in. My g-force sports should be in today, and Brakes should arrive Monday, then its off to the registry and inspection station.
