FS: 91 Legacy L wagon (northern CA)

Post by whitemr2 »

We couldn't pass up the deals on the '06s, and just picked up a new 2006 Legacy. So, our little '91 must go! This car has been a great member of our family since 2002, and has taken us on many camping and biking adventures. It has also proven invaluable for trips to Home Depot or Ikea, it's amazing how much space station wagons have inside! Interior is in very good condition, and has never been subjected to the ravages of children.

AT, AWD, PS, PDL, PW, CC, AM/FM/CD/MP3, 4-cyl, 152k miles, second owner (first owner was my uncle). The car has spent its life in sunny California, though is not rust free (base of a-pillars has some).

Major service done at approximately 130k miles as part of a general overhaul and included the following items:
- New struts front & rear
- New front and rear wheel bearings
- New front axles & CV joints
- New front and rear brakes
- New front ball joints
- New tires (Yokohama Avid H4)
- New timing belt, new Accessory belt
- New water pump
- Major tune up (including new valve cover gaskets)
- Transmission rebuilt

Other:
- MP3 CD player (Blaupunkt San Jose model) with remote control, and with auxiliary input (cable included) for iPods or other portable music players
- Yakima roof rack is yours if you want it - crossbars and supports only, no accessory attachments included
- The car just passed smog a month or so ago. Registration is valid until 05/2007

Known problems:
- Air conditioning stopped working a couple years ago (R12 based system)
- The windshield has a 6-8" crack in it
- A couple of the wheel covers are cracked
- The cruise control switch is a little flaky, you have to press it a couple times before it'll stay on

Asking $2000. The car is located in the San Francisco Bay area.

You're not kidding!!!

That is pretty much the same wagon as I bought for my donor swap, but it was in horrible condition compared to that.

Thanks everyone; I feel sorry for Subies everywhere if my Legacy is considered to be in great shape! I guess a few paint chips and door dings are not a big deal compared to what many cars are subjected to. Heck, this car has only seen snow a small number of times (short ski trips and a couple winter road trips). Even rain is a scarce thing around here. The car's original owner (I'm the second) lives just south of me so it really has had an easy life.

I've been surprised at how little interest there's been locally. I've had four people call up, sounding interested, but then flake on me and not show up (seems to be our luck with Craigslist). Any serious offers will be considered, I have too many cars and keeping this one around makes it too difficult to get my 'fun' car out of the garage (one car garage with a long driveway results in some serious car juggling to get the baby out of the garage).
