Fusible link Q

So I noticed that one of my cars had had the fusible link replaced. There is a nice char mark inside the fuse box around where the link is. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the fusible link ran. My guess would be, pretty much everything in the car. But I just wanted to keep an eye our for a potential problem. The guy who had the car has some scary splicing going on for the "security system".
