With the addition of the AWIC, I'm going to be adding a catch can.
From pulling the hoses off, I've concluded that the majority of the oil is coming from the main crankcase vent, and not the valve cover vents.
What I've decided to do is run the main crankcase vent to the catch can, run the outlet line from the catch can to a tee, and then split it back to the stock locations.
What I want to do with the valve cover vents is put an inline foam type coalescing filter that will help condense/trap any oil vapor. I'd put these in the vertical runs of the hoses, so the condensed oil could drain back into the valve covers.
I guess my question is, has anyone seen any foam type cartridge filters?
I am thinking something like those see-through fuel filters, but with a foam element would work great. But I have't run across anything like that, nor have I seen anything with the correct size fittings.
BTW, does anyone know the hose size for the valve cover vent hose?
Thanks

The hose is 1/2" ID I believe, and I haven't really found anything yet. I was thinking of using one of those clear fuel filter cases, and modifying it, but if I could find something else that would require less modifying, I'd prefer that.
Any suggestions?

What catch can are you using?
If you can't get an element for a fuel filter that would work well for this are you going to get some foam and cut your own?
You probably researched this, but here's a link for others http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=754710

I'm using the greddy catch can because I got a good deal on it locally, and it's more compact then the ebay one.
Yeah if I can't find anything, I'll get a foam air cleaner for a lawn mower and cut out what I need.
I haven't opened the can up yet, but may make a baffle plate that slides in to aid in oil separation.
Yeah I searched nasioc for catch can info, and the various ones out there. Cusco seems to be the high dollar one, but it supposedly has baffles. Whether it's worth the money....I don't know.

Yeah, that's a good idea.
The ones in the compressors are a little more porous then the air filter ones I'm thinking of for lawn mowers. However that might be better. I'd have to play with it and see which works best.

Well I figured out what I'm going to do.....now I just need to find that damn fittings.
None of the fuel filters had 1/2" barb fittings.
So what I'm going to do is use two 1/2" to 3/4" barb fittings. Plug the 1/2" side into the PCV hose, then on the 3/4" side hook that up to a 2" section of 3/4" clear vinyl braided hose with a lawnmower air filter cut to size and stuffed in there, then put the other barbed fitting on, and hook it back up to the PCV hose.
This will allow me to see if I think it's working.
The only problem is finding the damn barbed fittings. I've been to 2 home depots, 1 lowes, 1 local hardware place, and 3 autoparts stores
I found this place online, but I'm not sure if they sell directly to the public or through a distributor

I called Green Leaf and talked to one of their sales reps. They were pretty helpful. There wasn't a local retailer near me that had the fittings, so I was able to buy them directly through green leaf.
I just called their 800 #, and asked the operator to talk to someone in sales. The guy I talked to was Kevin. His extension is x225.
I'll take pics of the fittings when I get them.
