unclamped MAF signal = crazy lean condition

Post by douglas vincent »

At the drag strip last night I tried running without clamping the MAF signal at 4.98. LEAN LEAN LEAN. In fact it was so lean I thought I might just be RICH RICH RICH cause I couldnt actually get a reading from the wide band!

So I reset the clamp to 5.09.

at 4000 rpm = BANG = jumped straight from 11.4 to 14.2! Everytime.

Back to being clamped at 4.98.

This is using the metal MAF. Also, 12 psi pumped through the metal maf is getting me raw signal as high as 5.7

I suggest you might switch to the ej22t block and computer but keep your setup the same. Course that could create problems with fuel cuts that the turbo legacy's face.
