Nice and tidy - like it! For me a tail spoiler would 'balance out' the lines a bit but it's a nice looking car. Kudos! 8)

It's an Alaskan car, don't want to spend any more money on it until next year, It's got studded tires on it in the pic, next year, well in 6 months, rims/tires first, then a spoiler for the rear.....

wheels

Post by mrkingers »

Hm, as I said, I'm in Anchorage Alaska. I've the 15" studded tires, on stock black steel rims, The 'wheels' in the pics are actually 'simulators' bought this morning at Schucks for $59.99, basically wheelcovers, to make 15" look like 17" I got them as I didn't want to buy new alloys, to get wrecked here over the winter, and also didn't like the look of plain black steel wheels....

Studs

Post by mrkingers »

Well, If I had a 2003 Silverado, I could get 17" studs, however, geiing 17 or even 16" studs, narrow enough for the sub would be near impossible.
As I said, I just wanted something other than black steel rims, and this was a cheap way to get me through the winter here.
I don't think they look TOO bad, do they?

They're fine. Just realize there will be people that will make fun of you and hate the idea. I wish I had a car to put those on, that would be awesome! Don't worry they're just hatin' :P

Dude why?

Post by mrkingers »

Why, because, every Jeep, Subaru and anything else in Ak that's AWD, has black steel rims, or those white steel 8 spokes rims on in the winter.
I would love to buy new wheels and stick them on right now, but, we already had snow last Sunday, so, any new alloy rims I'd buy would look sweet for about 2 days, before being attacked by salt sand and grit. These covers are a temporary winter solution, however, temporary winter solution in Alaska means 6 months.
Oh well, everyones entitled to their opinion I guess.

Don't take it pesonal. People here are very blunt that's all. If they don't like it, they will tell ya. The only thing that matters is that YOU like it.
Who cares what anyone else thinks. I am a big believer in studs too. I run 4 studded Goodyear Ultragrips in the winter, damn car runs like it's on rails in the snow and ice! When I get my 17"s I'll still have to run my curb rashed 15"s for the studs. Like I said just roll with it. Your cars nice and when you get your 17"s next summer you'll be pimpin' and most of us here will still be rollin on our stockies.

Choice.

Post by mrkingers »

I had the choice of 3 wheel covers here in Anchorage. believe me, the other two were worse than these, for the same money. It was these, or stock black steel rims....I mean, I like them, I don't LOVE them, they'll do me fine over the winter. I'll probably lose one or two in the snow anyway.
But, the wife and kids basically picked them out anyway, so, looking back I really had to say ok. My wife drives the Soob too sometimes, so she had the most say.!

I can understand if you want ghetto bling, but even these are a half assed attempt. At least get the spinner hub caps!

Cheper versions exist but here is an example

Ciper

Post by mrkingers »

Goddamit Ciper.....Look, you've read my story.......I'd 2 real choices, leave em black, or go for these wheel trims, I went for the trims....Truthfully, they remind me of a pimpin Honda Civic, but, as I explained, honestly, my hands were tied......
