I Found a Swap!!! finally.

Post by STi_GUY »

It's been a while since I've been on the board. Soooooo much to read. I have found a near complete setup from a jdm 98 WRX STi!! The engine, intercooler, acessories, ECU, wiring harness, axles, transmission, shifter, driveshaft, rear diff, and engine mounts are usable. The odo says 74,000 Km. Im still drivng my 94 legacy Ti (now rid of the air suspension in favor of a AGX/Whiteline setup). What can I use and will that TMIC fit?

You can use the engine, intercooler, accessories, ecu, wiring harness, axles, transmissino, shifter, rear diff, and engine mounts. ;)

course, i'd go for a standalone before i used that ECU. Autronic makes a plug and play board for ya. :D

Now by plug and play do you mean it has clips to go into the stock harness or it has maps already for that engine?

you can plug the stock WRX harness into the standalone unit. There are plenty of maps available for that engine.. PLENTY..

Damn. Just my day. The lot of it went to a higher bidder. It sux being poor. I did however find a EJ20TT with trans, wiring harness, ecu, and accessories on Ebay. Tons cheaper, too. 1,750 USD + s&h vs 5,300. Under 50K on the clock. Good Swap? Let me know.

Be carefull of ebay engines. Get some verification of miles and find some previous customers. Look through the sellers feedback and directly contact those people.

Ive heard of some people who where disapointed by the so called "30-40k" engines

Hey! *smack* E-bay is alright but if you want a good deal, deal with the importers.

I've talked with these guys, it's all in austrailian dollars which means if it says the engine is 3500 with trans, it's 1500... they also sell front cuts for the SAME price, so then all you have to do is put the 2 engines side by side and figure out what one has that the other dosen't makes things like wireing a bit simpler.

They love dealing with us Yanks. i've ordered injectors and intercoolers from them in the past.. no worry mate.

They offer packages as well in their engines section,

Hopefully this helps you in your swap search. Oh and don't be worried about shipping, they quote 800AUS to ship to the west coast..which again is 400US..so after looking at thier prices you will be way under your e-bay prices

P.S. if you MUST shop e-bay try :
