Post by RckyMtnLegacy »

I have a 1990 legacy L 5spd. I just got into the subaru craze and Love it. I want to soon turbocharge it and so on. How do I tell what turbo will work, and what engine I have now?

Well Ricky Martin Legacy  You most likely have an EJ22E. If you look at the plate on the drivers side front strut tower(under the hood) it will show an engine code.

what would be easiest if you want to turb oyour ride is to swap it with a EJ22T out of a 91-94 Legacy Turbo

it drops right into place of the old and bolts up to the tranny, the only problem youll have is sorting through all the wiring, then upgrading for more power comes easy, like getting a boost controller, i think SBR (link at bottom) have pistons for the EJ22T to lower the cr, and even sell a kit for the EJ25 DOHC hybrid motor, as well as plenty of other stuff
