Removing oil cooler

Post by Splinter »

In my quest to cure all my various oil leaks, Ive come to the Oil Cooler o-ring

Ive got the o-ring sitting in my hand, but the question I have is how do you remove the cooler to install it?

The Haynes manual I have has no idea that the Legacy ever had an oil cooler

The threaded nipple where you screw the oil filter on, is actually a coupler holding the oil cooler to the block.

Look up from under and you'll see the hex nut at the end of the thread.

Be gentle with the nut and the thread though.
