Howdy all,
I'm looking forward to put in a factory Short Shifter linkage assembly from Subaru into my '93 N/A Legacy with a '96 Outback cable tranny. I've already read about the new u-joint and the part number from Josh's AWD swap write up.
Now I've read several reviews that the short shifter levers and even the factory short shifter linkage assembly from Subaru vibrates a lot more due to lack of rubber dampener.
To drivers who currently have that setup, how bad is the vibration on the shift lever? Does it rattle also?
Thanks in advance,
Pye

I have the stock WRX shifter linkage & shifter with all kartboy bushings, and my custom u-joint with nylon bushings. I would not say there is excessive vibration.
I do feel the tranny when I rest my hand on the shifter, but I wouldn't say it's excessive, and no there is no rattle.
