Exhaust on '92 Legacy RS Turbo

Post by franckcrx »

Hi,
i am from France, and just got a RS.
I do not know anything about Subaru's, and Turbo
ANd i want to put an exhaust, an intake, and some lowered springs on my RS.

I searched on this forum, but cannot find the infos i want
Is there some parts common with Impreza's for example ?

Thank you very much, and sorry for my lack of knowledge on this brand (i know Honda by heart ;-)

A decent amount of stuff is swappable between the impreza and legacy. Some modifications may be needed.

Yeah, for example wheels etc.
But exhaust wise or suspension wise ?

I was answering your question regarding the exhaust and and suspension.

While this board is primarily focused on the US turbo legacy, the overseas legacies are very similar. Please search the board, there is a lot of information regarding suspension and exhaust.

Please see the first two sticky threads in the suspension forum
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewforum.php?f=6

As for exhaust, impreza stuff fits, but the rear muffler section needs to be lengthened as well the mounts tweaked. Again there are several threads covering this.

Thank you 8)
I red all this before, but there is no conclusion, or answer to my question, which is " what spring shall i use to lower it 2.25/2.5 ?"
aftermarket, i didnot find yet, maybe Impreza Stuff ?

For the exhaust, is there a specialist in decat for BC5, or shall i make it ? :?

Thanks again

I don't know the specifics on different springs and how much they'll lower. I don't think the impreza stuff lowers things that much.

As for the exhaust. I have "legacy specific" exhaust, and it's fit wasn't steller IMO, so if you can make one, and/or piece one together with an impreza down pipe, that'd probably be best IMO.

Research Whiteline "FlatOut" springs. Seems like they are the lowest around. The super low look is often coilovers. Good luck! Bon chance!

A great site to find the info that you're looking for is www.rslibertyclub.org

They are an Australian based site that is just for the legacy RS.

Yeah the strait WRX springs and struts raise the car qiute a bit especially if you have the factory original suspension.
