Don't call it a comeback...

Post by Matt Monson »

I've been here for years! Though I have to confess that the last 2 years of Legacy ownership has only been in the form of parts cars. But as of today, I have officially re-entered the fold of Legacy Turbo owner. I bought this car last night :-D :
http://denver.craigslist.org/car/195127123.html

It's a plumb of car and now I have a worthy recipient for my RS-RA block. My 2.5RS needs a few major service items and will be taken down for a month or two. In the meantime, I will use the SS as my daily driver. And then, the gloves come off and I can build a monster out of it. I will do the engine swap, along with JDM ECU conversion and we'll go from there. Pictures of the car to follow once I take receipt of it manana... 8)

OMG, it's one of 15 in the whole world with a locking rear differential

You just picked up a car that is getting extremely rare. 91 Turbo, 5spd, with rear LSD.

Oh yeah, TITTYWOP

I am really one happy camper right now. This is just the perfect car for me. And it's even the right year for my RS-RA engine...

Just a joke about the ad that says it has a locking diff. Which it doesn't.

Well,
technically, to the layman, a rear LSD would be a self locking diff... ;)

Ha Ha ...I did think it was strange having a locking diff, I know they exist on SUV's so that's why I was wondereding if the Legacy had this option.
Cheers

Nice Matt!!

I wanna see the ECU conversion when you get to it... I'll need that and thensome to keep our "encounters" on Valmont on even keel  once you get this beast built.

Are you going to use the VF23?

Cool, welcome "back".

If you know anyone else who's looking for a cheap 91 Sport Sedan 5MT that runs well but has bad paint and some body dings, let me know. It can be had for less than $1000.

Give me a month or two, though I can barely contain myself from ripping the engine out right now. The RS needs some major maintenance on the rear end, coupled with some upgrades. Then I can dig into the SS. Until then it's my daily driver. I drove it today. I love it, even though it needs better struts. Pics will come once the weather cooperates. I drove it home in the rain on Saturday and it's now covered with mud...

The turbo I had was a vf-29. I sold it to BMXpunk. Now I am left shopping for another turbo. Oh well, live and learn...

It has begun. Last night I visited one of our local tuners and picked up a Whiteline 20mm non-adjustable rear sway bar for the car. It also already has my 6 spoke RS 16's on it, though I am buying some used 17" Supperleggeras this evening. I can't control myself. I love this little car...
