mmmmmmm, Fat Tire

Post by 93forestpearl »

All you guys that can get it regularly suck! A liquor store here has two pallets of it because the owner was in colorado and brought a bunch back. I think its damn good. Granted, you can't Leini's out there, which has really good stuff. I have a couple buddies that raved about Fat Tire when they were out there, and I said whatever. Now Ibelieve them.

We have rediculous amounts of micro brews in the PNW. Maybe it's time to move, Dan. ;)

Ooooh, and I've been enjoying Pacifico all evening, too . . . Phil knows what I'm talking about. He had to go to freaking Mexico to get it!

I've got Pacifico at work (Old Chicago) but I've yet to try it. There's plenty on micro's up here, like Summit, Lake Superior Brewing, Leinenkugels, etc, but this beer I've been swilling tonight is just a little different. Just like the Mythical White Grand Crew I used to get from the Big Hole Brewing Company, but I think they went under :(

One of my favorites.

Who has had Moose Drool? I love that stuff. And I'm from Missoula so we used to go to the brewery all the time.

211 ftw. After a twelver, you pretty much don't remember a whole lot. (8.1 %)

I thought leini's was a reagional beer. Hmm. Do you get the seasonal micros like Big Butt, Sunset, and what not? I have yet to go tour their brewery. Its about an hour and a half.

I dig on the Moosedrool. Its way better on tap. We've had it on tap at OC since I started a year and a half ago. [/code]

fat tire made a summer brew, "Skinny Dip" this year. that is the bomb. hey, since you are in MN, would you be able to meet me on the
MN/IA border for like about 10 cases of whatever New Belgium you can get.

They dont sell it here in Iowa, and I wrote the company, and here is the response from New Belgium:

"""""Hi Brent!
Thanks for the email and for the Skinny Dip and Fat Tire love, but unfortunately you won't be able to find it anywhere in Iowa. We are still a regional brewer, and only distribute to 15 states (plus Chicago metro). And unfortunately, due to a variety of laws and quality concerns, we don't mail or direct ship brew. Really, the best suggestion we have is to plan another "beer vacation"... to Colorado or another state in which we do distribute our beer. You can see a map of our distribution area on our website: www.newbelgium.com/faq.php If you have any further questions, let us know!

I'm in the cities right now, and I don't know if there'll still be any left at the Hammond when I get back up there. The owner of the place was in CO for some other reason, and decided while he was there to bring a pallat back with him. Kind of a freak thing that they have it.

But damn! You are really adamant about New Belgium!

I was back in good ol' Ft Fun last week for a wedding reception (mine). On our way out of town to shack up in a Mtn. cabin, we stopped at the NB brewery. While enjoying our free samples we started BS'ing with the employees. As we were leaving they offered us a Growler of anything and two glasses as a wedding gift......It was possibly the highlight of the whole marriage thing so far. And though I love Fat Tire, it is far from their best beer(just the most popular)

I love growlers. But I am drinking sam adams octoberfest right now, quite tasty. I had loved fat tire, and flying dog doggie style. I never liked leini's (went to college in ashland WI) and the best beer I ever had was Sam Adams Utopia. If you don't know what it is look it up.
