Post by douglas vincent »

Geeze Doug. Sorry to hear you lost another. You've learned a lot in that 500 mi at least :-/.

How was it doing before it went?

What are the new plans?

I suspect I lost the piston(s) due to pre-ignition because I was running close to 14 psi un-intercooled. I guess 7.2-1 compression ratio and 100 octane still couldnt handle it. :? I am a little pissed.

I am going to stick new NA pistons and rings in my "old" motor and simply swap the heads over when I pull this motor. Cheapest and fastest solution. And since I "know" the NA pistons were fine in the old motor, they should be in this new motor, AS LONG AS I HOOK UP THE DAMN INTERCOOLER!!!!!!! Smack forehead.....If this was the reason for the fast breaking of this motor, I feel like an idiot. At the same time, if it wasnt, I still feel like crap.

At least I can do this quickly....bleah.

As long as you're getting rid of built engines that fast, next time why don't you just put it in my car and pretend it got blown?
