Post by spdracr »

ok so i just picked up a 92 legacy sedan and the front seats are shot. i'd like to swap in some wrx seats but they will sit too high for me. well, the driver side i can lower but the passenger side will be too tall. so what seats are in your legacy? i need something with some side support.

thanks..

I've got the stock cloth ones in my 91L. I think they're quite nice. I would like to replace them eventually though with something a little cushier.

I'm rocking a set of 2.5 RS coupe seats.

They are supportive enough for me, and since I'm not really tall, they sit at just the right height.

Eventually I will look into real racing seats, but that's far down the road.

did those RS seats raise the seat level at all? I need something either lower or the same as the stock seat. does anyone know what height the non-adjustable seat is compared to the adjustable seat?

Though probably not what you're after I have Outback Leather seats in my 90 with the height adjust. I didn't do the swap but is the height adjuster seat base interchangeable with another base? On my race car *cough* Honda *cough* the seat base unbolts from the seat itself as I was able to use the factory sliders on the race seat. Just thinking out loud...

just helped my buddy put in leather seats out of a 99 Legacy GT into his 91 SS, even ran wires so the electronic adjustment works! same ride height or close to it...neither of us are very tall though-but just a thought

i also rock some 2.5rs coupe seats. they do not raise your ass (an important factor for me too) but the rake of the seat bottom is more pronouced. I don't wedge my knees under the dash anymore, so im perfectly satisfied with them.

RallySam is really tall (like myself) and the Version 4 JDM STi seats work really well for people like us. It puts the seat at the perfect height.

I want another set SO badly.

Has anyone tried the Mitsu Evo seat swap? Saw some on RS25.com for sale with custom brackets. I've sat in Evos before and like the seats...
