Yep, the EA82 MPFI, MPFI Turbo, SPFI and Feedback Carb systems all have there own ECU, only the standard Carb models don't have one. And note there are two different MPFI Turbo ECUs, '86 and older with the "flapper" MAF and the '87 and newer with theHotwire MAF.
