I was planning on running my TD04 for now, and sending the VF39 to deadbolt for a rebuild, port, polish and clipping. Good idea?
When I get it back, Id have a JDM TD04 and a Forester XT TD04 up for grabs, if you're interested get your dibs in now

All we need now is someone to animate that pic and having the turbos dancing back and forthwiscon_mark wrote:The dancing turbos?
Who have you consulted? I did a bit of homework when I got my TD05. You hear around the internet that clipping is bad, but when you start to dig into things, and you ask people that know their stuff, clipping can be beneficial on certain turbo/engine combos. It can help spool up, as well as help eliminate boost creep. The other thing too is who does the clipping. If the shop does not change their blanchard grinder frequently, then the clip will not have the accuracy it should.free5ty1e wrote:Although I have no direct experience with turbine clipping, everyone I've consulted recommended against it. It's supposed to assist spool-up with larger turbos on smaller engines, but can't we spool the VF39 without too much trouble already anyway?
